Point Bonita (3 images)

Point Bonita today is part of the largest urban national park in the United States, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Point Bonita Light is still an active lighthouse, maintained by the National Park Service. Originally sited on a hill above the current location, the lighthouse was first built in 1855 (the third lighthouse to be built on the West Coast) after San Francisco's infamous fog sent many ships crashing against the Headlands' rocky shoreline.
